Revised User Interface for MarketSpark Command Center

Next Tuesday morning, July 29th, we’ll be rolling out a completely revamped UI for Command Center.

The Command Center we’ve provided for our customers to this point has grown a bit long-in-the-tooth as far as its components are concerned – it needs a new coat of paint. As well, modern UI toolkits have evolved and the state-of-the-art today makes the jobs of developers easier than those jobs were a few years ago. So, with this upcoming release, we’re improving things for both our customers and ourselves. And, when we improve things for ourselves, by making it simpler and faster for our developers to add functionality, we’re really benefiting our customers, too. It’s a win on both sides for you.

What are you going to get?

You’re going to get a modern UI that makes much more efficient use of screen real estate. We’ve reduced white space all over: tables, menus, cards, lists, bullets…everywhere. What you see won’t require as much eye travel across the screen to find, it’ll be faster for you to get the information you need. And, what you see on the screen is going to be easier to understand than ever. We’re reducing complexity and data duplication:

• Diagnostics and Equipment information is now combined into Diagnostics – one spot for all equipment-level details
• Lines data is now found on the Services tab, a place for all service status, not just POTS replacement
• Important location details, like Notes, are now visible on one page, as a timeline, instead of on separately visible card pages

As well, you’re getting an option for one of our most-requested features, Dark Mode.

When the new UI rolls out, you’ll access it at the regular URL: https://app.marketspark.com, so you won’t have to update any bookmarks. You’ll find yourself in the new UI directly, you won’t have to elect for it. You’ll have an option, available until August 25th, in the top navigation menu to go back to the older UI, then accessible at https://legacy-app.marketspark.com. After August 25th, the older, legacy UI will be sunset.
