MarketSpark, Inc. has appointed Michael Wood as Chief of Carrier Strategy and Business Development for the Verizon channel. In this role, he will guide MarketSpark’s partnership growth across both Global Enterprise and the Public Sector. This appointment highlights the company’s ongoing investment in strategic leadership to accelerate its collaboration with Verizon.
During his 17 years at Verizon, Wood held several management and leadership positions. Most recently, he served as Verizon’s Director of Enterprise Sales. In that position, he led a team of 50 sales professionals and seven sales leaders supporting hundreds of accounts throughout North America. In addition, he managed teams responsible for strategic accounts in IoT Sales, B2B Marketing, and Operations.
According to Jeff Gower, Chief Executive Officer of MarketSpark, “Wood’s background, deep relationships, and expertise supporting many of Verizon’s largest enterprise and public sector accounts will help strengthen our partnership and enhance our market position as the premier next-generation POTS solution provider for large enterprises.” Gower added, “Michael is the right person to lead and grow our Verizon Global Enterprise and Public Sector business. He will build on the incredible momentum we have jointly created with Verizon.”
Throughout his tenure at Verizon, Wood developed large teams focused on expanding market share, subscribers, and revenue. He also prioritized customer satisfaction and long-term success.
“I’ve worked closely with teams and customers to identify challenges, create tailored solutions, and set our clients on a clear technological roadmap for growth,” said Wood.
Wood earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in Economics and Marketing from the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University. Moreover, he is committed to community service and children’s welfare. He volunteers with Feed My Starving Children, a nonprofit organization that works to end global childhood hunger. The group inspires compassion and action by connecting volunteers with children in need. Furthermore, Wood supports the Evans Scholars Foundation, a nonprofit based in Glenview, Illinois, that provides full tuition and housing scholarships to deserving golf caddies.
